The balloting on the Tentative Agreement will begin on Tuesday. That day, MPCTA will also hold a membership meeting to answer questions about the meaning of the Tentative Agreement provisions. We will meet Tuesday, November 13 in SS102 from 3-4:30. The purpose of this meeting will be to answer questions about the content of the Agreement, so that everyone feels confident about voting. Please stop by if you have questions or concerns. I am attaching the Tentative Agreement to this message, it is based on the October 26 proposal from the District (which was emailed to the faculty) and was previously sent out via email on November 5.
All members of MPCTA can vote on this matter. The ballot boxes will be located at the Library reference desk and in the Administration lobby. Ballots will be distributed by mid-day on Tuesday, and all ballots must be placed in a ballot box by 4pm on Monday, November 19 to be counted. Wendy Bates and Elizabeth Mullins have kindly agreed to serve on a committee to count the ballots, but our bylaws call for a three-person committee. If you can be free to count ballots at 10:30 on Tuesday, November 20, please let me know.
Finally, I wanted to let you all know — just in case you didn’t spend Tuesday evening constantly refreshing the election returns — that Natalia Molina will be the new Board of Trustees member representing Seaside and Yuri Anderson will be the new Board of Trustees member representing Marina.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
